Personally I've never flat ironed my hair with hair grease I was always too scared that my hair would burn doing so. However I do remember my mom using hair grease as she hot combed my hair. You're hair came out beautifully, btw.

It (grease - blue magic blue or green with lanolin in it) works better (for me) as a sealant on top of a natural moisturizer (by natural moisturizer I mean no silicone, no mineral oil i.e CURLS Creme brulee) AND THEN GREASE AND TWIST/BRAID AND LEAVE ALONE or loose out whatever my heart desires. My hair stays soft and moisturized for days. I sometimes use a leave in like Giovanni then a lotion style moisturizer then the grease! Yes, I am a Natural hair care specialist. The plus one is the truth if you have seb derm the menthol and camphor really help. Also I don't believe the non-plus has tar oil. They used Tar oil fragrance. If they put tar oil in it they legally have to put it in the ingredient list.

I do this but with mct oil (caprylic c8) since i have seborrheic dermatitis and is very dificult to find conditioners that dont break me out and give me dandruff. I use no more than 30% of oil (if i put more its difficult to rinse the shampoo from the hair) and the rest is a shampoo without silicones so the oil can really penetrate the hair. Now i can detangle at the shower while washing my hair. Loved it! 😍 I am thinking in also oiling my hair before washing because this "shampoo+oil" doesnt stop the dryness and frizzyness after the hair is blowdry (i have very high porosity virgin hair).
